Stylish Saturday

As you may know, I love parties and have been to a fair few of them in my time. These days, though, being an almost-10-year-old girl and all, I don't like to party quite so hard as I used to. Come 9 o'clock, I'm ready to call it a night. Someone snapped these photos of me at Thanksgiving last year, when we went over to Babushka and Toma's house. When the peoples were still in the kitchen whooping it up, I snuck up on the couch (couches are out of bounds to 4-leggeds in that house). When I was spotted, they said I looked so comfy I could stay there. The hat wasn't my idea, but I wasn't about to complain.

So last night, I was at another party, of sorts. This was a bit of a different affair. It was something to do with some of my (and my mum's) favorite people, Donna Eden and David Feinstein. A lot of people gathered in the kind of place I'm not usually allowed to go to. But this time, because my mum was organizing it, I was allowed in. I got really excited, like when I was a puppy, and wanted to greet all the people. There was a human puppy there too, who was Donna and David's grandson and I got to hang out with him a lot in the place where the people came in and out.

One of the best parts of the evening was seeing my old friend Pépé right outside the windows. I so wanted to go and give him a piece of my mind about that incident during the summer, but they wouldn't let me at him. He knew I was on to him, and kept coming up to the glass and taunting me. I'm pooped now from all the exertions and greeting all the peoples. So even though I'm not wearing the hat, this is pretty much what I look like today.

Pepé le Who?

I stink!

Mum said so.

Dad said so too. He called me a Stinkerpoozer.

And it's all because of that tricky little black and white critter they call Pepé le Pew, who hangs out down by the creek.

I had to get doused in this stuff.

We waited for it to dry, then Mum did it again.

The stink didn't go away. That was Thursday.

Since then, Mum has washed me at least 10 times* with all of this stuff.

I've had to sleep outside every night.**

I'm almost going bald from all the bathing.
(But I'm still quite glamorous, aren't I?)

And apparently, I still stink!

*This may be a slight exaggeration, but I swear it was at least 8 times!
**Mum did sleep outside with me so I wouldn't feel lonely
