This puppy was alone at sea for 16 days. Her name is Juanita and she was sailing with her dad who is the brother of our friend (Thandi's mum) here in Sedona.
It's been a very sad time for us all, waiting to hear news. The night we heard her dad, Paul, was lost at sea, a dog came to my mum in the dream to let her know that she was lost and needed to get back to her people, but even though everyone looked for the boat, they didn't find it for another two weeks.
I think Nita was very lonely on the boat all that time on her own and couldn't understand what had happened to her dad. Thandi's mum had to go on a long trip to the place where Nita the puppy is now so that she can make sure she is looked after by someone, now she doesn't have a dad any more.
Nita was a very brave girl to spend all that time on her own. Luckily she had food and water, and a comfy bed to sleep on. Here are some more pictures of her being rescued from the yacht.
I like going to the seaside, but I don't think I want to go out in the middle of the ocean in a big storm.
Please give your puppies some extra rubbles and huggings today, and send some love to all the people who are missing Nita's daddy.

Did you see how bad those sails were torn? That must have been one massive storm!
I don't want to be out in the ocean during a big storm, either!

This is an amazing story, sad, but also inspiring. I'm sad to hear of Nita's papa's disappearance, but I am also thankful that she is alive and being cared for.
I will give Duncan extra love tonight.
Wow poor Nita and her family. What a terrible loss for all of them. Glad to hear Nita was rescued and is safe.
What a sad story, but an amazing one because of the dream...While I'm thankful that Nita was found, I'm so very sorry that her Dad has been lost. Please give the family my condolences, and know that they are in my prayers.
Send some hugs from us too...what a horrible ordeal.

Poor thing, what a frightening time it must have been for her all alone on the boat.
We will keep her in our prayers.

Moose and I send some love to his family. A very sad story for them but rather miraculous for Nita. It sounds like the family's search continues. I hope they find him or closure because not knowing would be very difficult. Hugs!
Sending some love from us - what a sad story.

Remarkable story - and bittersweet.

Oh no, how very sad. Our thoughts go out to your friend. Me and the peeps will be in Sedona this weekend on Friday-Sunday. If you happen to see a red Golden and a black lab it may be us! I would love to meet you someday!

What a sad story. We are sad for Nita and all who lost a friend/family member. Purrs and tail wags.
Please send my love to Juanita. What a brave girl she was. I don't know what I would do if something happened to Vickie and I was all alone in the middle of the water. Very brave heart in that beautiful girl. So sorry for her loss.
Thanks for sharing that story. That's got to be of some comfort to know the dog survived.
I love your snow pics.
Wow, how scary is that? We like to go out on the boat on the lake, but if we go in the ocean, I think we'll go on a big ship with lots of people.
